Privacy Policy

Information you give us:

• Quiz answers: your age range, your sleep schedule, how you sleep, your bedroom, your goals and the other answers you give in the sleep quiz.
• Health information: some questions ask about things like snoring, daytime sleepiness, pregnancy, menopause, sleep medicine or a diagnosed condition. These questions are optional (“I'd rather not say” is always there), and we use the answers only to build a plan that's safe for you.
• Contact details: your email address and, if you give it, your first name.
• Check-ins and progress: your morning check-ins, the steps you mark, your reminder times and the other settings you choose in the app.
• Messages: what you send us when you write to support.

Payment information: payments are handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number. We receive a record of the purchase: the plan, the amount, the date, and the type and last four digits of your card.

Information collected automatically: when you use the Service, we and our service providers collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages and screens you view, the ad that brought you to us, and the date and time of your visit. We use cookies, local storage and similar tools to do this (see Cookies).

• To build your sleep plan, show it to you and adjust it as you check in.
• To create and run your account, sign you in and keep your plan on each device you use.
• To take payments, renew your plan, give refunds, and email you before your first full-price renewal.
• To send the emails the Service needs, like your plan, sign-in links and receipts, and to answer you when you write to us.
• To send tips and offers, if you agree. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in any of those emails.
• To understand how the Service is used, fix problems and make it better.
• To measure how well our ads work (see Advertising).
• To prevent fraud and abuse, keep the Service secure and meet our legal obligations.

We use your health information only to provide the Service to you. We never use it for advertising.

We never sell your personal information. We share it only in these cases:

• Service providers: companies that help us run the Service, such as hosting, databases, payment processing, email delivery, analytics and customer support. They may use your information only to provide their services to us.
• Advertising partners, in a limited way: see Advertising. They never receive your quiz answers, check-ins or health information.
• Legal reasons: when the law requires it, or when we believe in good faith that it's needed to protect the rights, property or safety of you, us or others.
• Business transfers: if we're involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that deal. We'll tell you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
• With your consent: in any other case, only when you ask us to or agree to it.

We advertise Sleep Trainer on platforms such as Meta, TikTok and Google. To see which ads work, our website may use their pixels or similar tools. These can tell the platform that someone who saw an ad visited our site, started the quiz or made a purchase, along with technical information like an IP address and browser type.

They never receive your quiz answers, your check-ins or any other health information. The Sleep Trainer app itself has no advertising tools.

You can limit ad tracking in your device and browser settings, and in each platform's ad settings.

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your answers and settings, and understand how the Service is used. Some are set by our service providers and advertising partners on our website.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. If you do, some parts of the Service, like staying signed in, may not work.

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There's no common standard for it yet, so the Service doesn't respond to it.

We keep your information while your account is open and for as long as we need it to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete your plan, check-ins and progress within 30 days. We keep some records longer when the law requires it, such as payment records for tax and accounting.

If you take the quiz and don't buy a plan, we keep your answers and email for no longer than 12 months, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

• See and download your data: in the app, open You, then Export my data. Or email us.
• Correct it: change your times and settings in the app, or email us.
• Delete it: in the app, open You, then Delete my account. Or email us and we'll delete it for you.
• Stop marketing emails: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. We'll still send the emails your account and billing need.

Depending on where you live (for example, in the European Union, the United Kingdom, California and other US states), you may have more rights: to know what we collect and how we use it, to access, correct, delete or move your data, to object to or limit some uses, to opt out of targeted advertising, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To use any of them, email us at help@noru.app. We may need to confirm it's you first. We'll answer within the time the law requires, and we'll never treat you differently for asking.

If you're in the EU or UK, we use your information to provide the Service you signed up for, with your consent (for health information and marketing emails), for our legitimate interests (to understand and improve the Service, measure our ads and keep it secure), and to meet our legal obligations. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

We protect your information with industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and access limited to the people and services that need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't promise absolute security. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.

We're based in the United States, and our service providers may process your information in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, we protect these transfers with safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Sleep Trainer is for adults 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has given us information, email us at help@noru.app and we'll delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
